Canadian Marketing Calendar is a community project run by Marcus and Muse. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to get it removed. Last updated 28 October 2026.
When you subscribe we collect your email address, the date and time you consented, and the page you signed up from. We keep that record because Canada's anti-spam law asks us to be able to show that you asked for the newsletter. You are only added to the list after you click the confirmation link we email you.
The list is held in Brevo, our email service provider, in a list used only for this newsletter. It is never merged with, sold to, or shared with any other list or organization, including the other communities Marcus and Muse is involved with.
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately. To have your record deleted entirely, email aaron@marcusandmuse.com and we will remove it within ten business days.
When you submit an event we ask for your email address so we can follow up with questions. It is visible only to the reviewers and is never published or added to any mailing list.
When you first visit we ask what you are comfortable with. Only essential technologies run until you decide: the cookie that remembers your choice, and the sign-in session on the reviewer page. Quebec's Law 25 asks that anything which identifies, locates or profiles you stay off until you turn it on, and that is how the site behaves for every visitor, wherever you are.
Analytics (off by default): PostHog and Google Analytics, loaded only after you opt in, to understand how the calendar is used: pages viewed, filters used, roughly where visitors come from. Aggregated, not used to identify individuals.
Advertising (off by default): Google Ad Manager serves the sponsor ads on the site. Without your consent it runs in limited mode, with no advertising cookies and no personalization. With consent, Google may use cookies to personalize and measure ads; see Google's privacy policy for how it handles that data.
Change or withdraw your choice at any time with the Privacy choices link in the footer. Your choice is remembered for six months, then we ask again. The embedded widget on other sites records nothing.
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to aaron@marcusandmuse.com.
